- 1 tbsp ghee
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1-2 dry red chillies
Instructions to make to make Punjabi pakora kadi
- In a mixing bowl add gram flour, salt, carom seeds and baking soda. Add water to make a batter.
- In a wok,heat some oil and deep fry pakoda in it till golden brown.
- In the same wok, take only 1 tbsp oil and add fenugreek seeds, cumin seeds and asafoetida.
- As the seeds crackle, add curry leaves and sliced onion and mix well.
- In mixing bowl add yoghurt, gram flour and mix well till no lumps. Add more water and mix well.
- Add this yoghurt mix to the wok and stir well. Let it come to boil.
- Let the kadi boil for 5-10 mins. Then add salt and turmeric powder to the kadi.
- Let the kadi boil for another 5-10 mins and then add pakodas to it. Let it simmer for 5 mins and then switch off the gas.
- To put tadka,heat ghee in a tadka pan and add cumin seeds and broken red chillies and put the tadka on kadi. Serve hot with rice.
